Now I’m inspired to get a sketchbook and dedicate myself to drawing 7 figures a day - or at least get close! What an amazing challenge. Thank you for your encouraging words!
When I'm working with students, I will also often use a sports (or music/performance) analogy — I think they're so often expecting themselves to be good at drawing right away and they get frustrated easily. When I equate it to sports or other practice in the performing arts, they start to get it.... it doesn't make the work any easier, but I think it helps to shift their perspective on the rate of skill growth!
Thank you thank you thank you. Currently in the suddenly "sucking at my art" phase as I go out of my comfort zone in the long graph of ups and downs in the learning journey. Can't skip this to reach progress. Thanks coach❤
Indeed - there is no shortcut and that is what I try to remember myself and wish more of my students would accept. It would then follow that they could ease into the practice and actually enjoy it more - thanks for articulating this Christopher.
Love this advice! I'm trying to draw every day, working on my style and some anatomy to fit in with that. It can definitely be tricky. But drawing is fun!

Absolutely. It's a universal tool.
thanks for the encouragement, coach :)
A good reminder that you cannot shortcut practice to get better at something. So let’s draw on!!!
There really is no substitute.
Thank you. Needed to hear this

Just like everything else. No shortcuts.
